Class Descriptions

Beginning / Recuperative Level 1

Designed for those with physical limitation, whether from injury, surgery, illness or other challenges. This class allows the participants to use use chairs and other props to make them more comfortable. The class concentrates on improving posture, motor skills, and body coordination while creating strength in weak muscle areas.

Beginning / Recuperative Level 2

This class format is for beginners and those with minor physical challenges or for those who prefer a gentler class. The class is designed to be less physically taxing than other yoga classes and has an emphasis on proper techniques to restore or develop strength and flexibility.

Intermediate Level

For hardy beginners or more advanced students, this class focuses on creating the strength and techniques to master some of the more difficult yoga poses. The format uses more advanced sun salutes and ventures into backbends, crow pose and handstands as well as other challenging yoga poses. All are welcome and techniques can be modified to suit the less advanced student who wishes to grow into the program.

Core Conditioning for Yoga

The focus of this class is to develop the muscle groups used in many yoga postures. Frequently muscle aches and strains or lack of advancement in yoga skills, may mean you are missing some important elements in your fitness training. This class teaches simple but effective routines to round out your yoga practice. Resistance techniques and various props will be used and provided in class, including free weights, resistance bands and physioballs. The intensity level of this class is mild to moderate and is open to all levels of students.

Yang Style Tai Chi Chuan - Short Form

Often called a moving meditation, Tai chi can be very complimentary to a yoga practice.

Initial assessment session

Initial health and fitness assessment includes health history, posture assessment, muscle assessment, and personal exercise routine. (approximate time needed: 1 hr 45 min. Wear loose and comfortable clothing)

Kinetic Exercise

Private exercise session ensures proper performance of personal exercise routine. (45 minutes)

Core conditioning - Private core conditioning session

Advance your physical abilities to a new level through guided exercises to strengthen the core muscles that stabilize the body.

Meridian balancing

Private session using ancient techniques to restore energetic meridian balance. Each relaxing session includes assisted stretching and muscle relaxation techniques.
