With their bold, distinctive flavors, fresh herbs are the perfect ingredients to perk up any dish. They're also easy to grow in small spaces, so they can be readily available for cooking any time you need them (for those of you that attended the March 16th workshop you are good to go, and we will have some for sale at this workshops as well, should you need!) City- folk can have fresh herbs right in the kitchen and add MORE flavor, less salt!

Learn about the health properties of herbs, as well as how to prepare some tasty, healthy treats- from herbal drinks to healthy snacks, for you and your family. Yoga Teacher and Nutrition Consultant, Julie Byrd, 500 ERYT and Marti Ewing, 500 ERYT will present ideas for harvesting, cooking, and using fresh herbs to add depth, flavor and nutrition to healthy foods. The class will focus on fresh ingredients and locally grown Herbs.

Cooking with herbs has countless health benefits. Come sample and learn how to make your own great tasting food. Each region has its own unique flavors and many herbs have healing properties! Let's create a Gulf Coast, Herb inspired menu!

This workshop takes place in Marti's quaint 100 year old home - The Yoga Cottage.. come and share the love of fresh herbs, simple living and yoga with like minded individuals!

  1. Tasting, snacking, and sampling of some incredible herb based recipes
  2. Demonstrations of cooking with herbs
  3. Easy to create recipes for you to try at home

Explore the fundamentals of nutritional health from protien, carbohydrates and fats to the latest scientific research regarding the nutritional needs of exercise.

Meal planning and other strategies will be discussed for creating optimal eating plans.
